FAREWELL EVENING

BRUNTWOOD RESIDENTS After twenty years’ residence in the Bruntwood district Mr and Mrs John Campbell and family, who are leaving to make their home in Cambridge, were farewelled by a large gathering of friends in the Hautapu Hall recently. In making a presentation to them on behalf of the residents, Mr W. N. Ferry spoke of the interest they had taken in the affairs of the districtMr Campbell briefly replied and on his behalf Mr T. C. Wallace also returned thanks. During the evening musical items were given by Miss Lily Bone, Messrs T. H. Hampshire, G. James and T. C. Wallace. Supper was followed by dancing. Among those present were : Mesdames J. Campbell, wearing floral crepe; W. Millar, navy crepe de chine; M. Perry, black chiffon velvet; T. H. Wallace, brown chiffon velvet; J. Vincent, black matalasse; F. 'Pllkington, floral georgette; G. A. Watt, blue floral suede; E. White, navy crepe-de-chine; HWebb, henna marocain; T. C. Wallace, tomato crepe; J. Kerr, navy floral georgette; J. Watt, black georgette; Willoughey, grey marocain; W. Wallace, black and white georgette; S. Holmes, Paisley chiffon velvet; Wright, brown pin spot crepe. Misses Nancy Campbell, Marina blue cloque; Jessie Campbell, ruby chiffon velvet; Lily Bone, peacock blue crinkle crepe; Jessie Thompson, pink matalasse; Jenny Millar, black chiffon velvet; Irene Newcombe, black chiffon velvet and net; Dorry Newcombe, pink crinkle crepe; Jean Wallace, red satin; May Wallace, wine satin beaute; Pearl McCandlish, wine chiffon velvet; Elise Hinton, pink marocain ; Edna Hinton, rust cloque; Molly Perry, cherry crepe: Phyliss Buttermore, brown floral suede.
