May 28 In the House of Commons Mr Cahan agreed to withdraw his Bill proposing the abolition of Privy Council appeals when Mr E. Lapointe. Minister of Justice, approves Mr R. B. Bennett's suggestion that a committee should study the establishment of some Empire tribunal to settle disputes between British countries, including the United Kingdom, the members to be drawn from every part of the Empire, pf Mr Lapointe called attention to the fact that the proposal had been unfavourably received at two Imperial conferences.
