SHOW ATTRACTIONS
MADAM KARNOS’ ENTERPRISES Two complete shows which will draw big crowds at the Waikato Winter Show are brought by the enterprise of Madam Karnos, already well and favourably known to show patrons. The Hill-Billy Cowboys’ Band of musicians and yodellers associated with such radio artists as Tex Morton, will be very popular. Madam Karnos’ other attractions this year will he the Alonkey Motor Cranks. They have new tricks and a more thrilling performance than ever. The speedway drivers comprise znumber of large monkeys who operate their own miniature motor cars as capably as many users of the betterknown highways. The “motor speed cranks,” as they are familiarly known, are headed by the famous Skinny. The entertainment would not be complete without Teddy, the dog whose act is worth the price of admission alone.
WONDER GLASS BLOWERS WILL VISIT HAMILTON A feature of the Waikato Winter Show, commencing next Wednesday, will be the glass blowing exhibition to be given by the Wonder Glass Blowers. Taking the* moulfcen glass from the specially constructed furnace they will make ornamental vases, magnifying glasses, graceful swans, birds of paradise with flowing tails, old Dutch smoking pipes, and a host of other articles.
A few quick movements with the Angers, and a sailing ship in full sail is the result. These are a few of the articles that appear in a few moments under the delicate touch and sureness of breath of these talented artists, and the articles produced are wonderfully itne, both in workmanship and finish.
They will demonstrate how fine glass can be blown, spin glass to the thinness of a spider's web. and show what can he done with brittle glass—while it is molten hot. The articles are made in lull view of the audience, and as each article is made the manufacture is fully explained. The glass dress is a wonderful piece of work. It is made entirely of glass, and can he handled and worn like any ordinary dress. The model of the Sydney Harbour Bridge, six feet in length, and made entirely of glass, is a unique piece of work.
