WEDDING
DAVIS—DONOVAN The wedding was solemnised in the Roman Catholic Church, Matamata, recently, when Eva Mary Grace, daughter of Mr and Mrs A. Donovan, of Ngarua, was married to Cecil Edward Seddon, son of Mr and Mrs R. Davis, of Taumarunui. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. Father Silk at a Nuptial Mass and Mrs Cronin presided at the organ. The church had been beautifully decorated by friends of the bride. During the ceremony two solos, ‘Must for To-day” and “Ave Maria,” were sung by Mr Cronin and a duet was given by Mr and Mrs Cronin. The bride, who entered the church with her father, wore a lovely gown of cream magnolia satin cut on slimfitting lines and finished with buttons from the ne'ckllne to the hemline, the skirt falling to form a three-petalled train. Her beautifully embroidered Chantilly lace veil fell from a headdress of orange blossom and arum lilies, and she carried a sheaf of cream chrysanthemums, white dahlias knd maidenhair fern. The Attendants 1 Qowne She was attended by Miss Marjorie Donovan, sister of the bride, as bridesmaid, and Marie and Colin Donovan, niece and nephew of the bride, were flowergirl and page boy. The bridesmaid wore a frock of apple green silk '/iffeta with satin spots over which was worn a redingote of net, of the same colour banded with satin ribbon to match. On her hair she wore a short net veil, embroidered in peaks and held in place with a wreatli of apple green (lowers and gold leaves and she carried a sheaf of le’monshaded dahlias and chrysanthemums. The little (lower girl wore an apple green frock, fashioned on the same lines as the bridesmaid’s and she carried a gold basket of gilded berries and autumn leaves. The page boy was wearing a suit of cream magnolia satin with pearl button trimmings. The bridegroom was attended by Mr Edgar Smith as best man. Th® Reception After the ceremony a reception was held in the Rialto Rooms. Matamata, which had been artistically arranged in shade's of lemon and green. The guests were received by Mrs Donovan wearing a smart navy frock with georgette and button trimmings and navy hat and furs. She carried a bouquet of autumn-tinted flowers and leaves. Mrs Woolston, sister of the bridegroom, wore a frock of brown marocain with hat and coat to tone and she carried a bouquet of yellowand autumn-shaded leaves. When Mr and Mrs C. E. S. Davis left for wedding trip the bride travelled wearing a light sage green costume with navy front and hat to match with furs.
They will make their home in Taumarunul. In the evening the' guests were entertained at the home of Mrs Donovan at Ngarua where dancing was enjoyed. Music was supplied by Mrs Cronin, Mrs C. Walker. Mr \Y'.” Scott and Mr W. Donovan. Mrs Cronin also sang
