KELLY—CALLAGHAN The marriage was solemnised reI cently in the Church of Our Lady of the Rosary between Delores Fay, seciond daughter of the late Mr and Mrs j Patrick Callaghan, of Sydney and Maurice James, youngest son of Mr and the late Mrs Peter Kelly, of Hamilton. The Rev. Father McKean, of Auckland, performed the ceremony and celebrated Nuptial Mass. Mr Joseph Battersbv presided at the organ. The bride,* who entered the church with her brother-in-law, Mr Joseph De’Obbyns, wore a beautiful gown of pearl satin, the bodice being shirred at the shoulders and high waistline and finished with a little cluster of orange blossom at the lowneck line. The pannelled skirt was softly shirred at the hips and from the high waist fell to form a long train which was beautifully hand-embroid-ered with tulle flowers. Her lovely tulle veil was mounted on a top notch of velvet gardenias and formed a second long train. She carried a sheaf of cactus dahlias, roses and maidenhair fern. Mrs J. De’Obbyns, sister of the bride, was in attendance as matron of honour, and wore a smart suit of honey gold cloque, the tunic fashioned with a Peter Pan collar and fastened down the front with tiny covered buttons and the waistline was finished with a flared basque. She wore a toque with circular eyevell to tone and carried a Victorian posy of autumn-tinted flowers. The bridegroom was attended by his brother, Mr Stanley Kelly, of Te Awamutu. Following the ceremony a reception was held in the Centreway Lounge where the guest* were received by Mrs Kelly, who wore a navy tailored costume and peachbloom hat. When Mr and Mrs Maurice Kelly left by car for a tour of the North the bride wore a brown tailored costume with brown accessories. They will make their home in Te Awamutu.
MELLOR— COLEB St. Matthew’s Church, Morrinsville, was the scene of a pretty wedding on Wednesday when Gladys, second daughter of Mr and Mrs Coles, of Tauranga, was married to Cyril, sixth son of Mr and Mrs G. E. Mellor, Kiwitahl, Morrinsville. The bride, who entered the church with her father, looked charming in a gown of ivory satin cut on classical lines. The bodice was fitted to the figure and the slim-fitting skirt fell In graceful folds to a long, oval train. A row of tiny buttons finished the frock from the neckline to the hemline. Her beautifully embroidered veil of tulle was caught to the head with a coronet of orange blossom and fell softly to form a second train. She carried a sheaf of lilies.
The bride was attended by Miss Dorothy Daunauf, who wore a gown of shell pink taffeta and a headdress of silver flowers. She carried a shower bouquet of pink roses and chrysanthemums.
The little (lower girl was Mary Cole, sister of the bride. She wore a period frock of pink taffeta and carried a posy of pink roses. The bridegroom was attended by his brother, Mr C? Mellor as best man.
After the ceremony a reception was held at the home of the bridegroom’s parents. The bride’s mother, Mrs Coles, received her guests wearing a frock of dusky red flora satin with hat to match. She carried a posy of chrysanthemums in autumn shades. The bridegroom's mother wore a smart suit of navy with a navy* peach bloom hat and a posy of autumn flowers. When Mr and Mrs Cyril Mellor left by car for the North the bride travelled in a brown costume with brown hat and accessories to match.
