MAORI HOSTEL
STALL AT WINTER SHOW For some years efforls have been made to have a hostel for Maoris erected in Hamilton. The Maoris who have to come into town because members of the family are in the hospital, or for business reasons, have difficulty in obtaining accommodation, and it has been pointed out that hostels at New Plymouth, Tuakau and elsewhere have proved of very great assistance. In the hope that, if they showed their willingness to assist, the Government would make provision for a subsidy people Interested have decided to have a stall at the coming Winter Show. The authorities have placed a suitable stall at their disposal and it is hoped to stock it with Maori arid other goods. If possible there will be at the stall one or two experts in the making of Maori kits and other tilings, and they will do the work so that people interested may see how such articles were made in the past. The entire proceeds of the stall will be added to the fund being raised to establish a hostel.
