TO LONDON HOSPITAL VISCOUNT NUFFIELD’S GENEROSITY THE ATTEMPTED HOLD-UP (United Press Assn.—Elec. Tel. Copyright) LONDON, May 26 Viscount Nuffield has given £IO,OOO to the London Hospital for the X-ray diagnosis department. In spite of police reticence the Press Association learns that John Bruce Thornton, who was arrested following an attempted hold-up of Lord Nuffield in his office last night by two other men, is aged 50. His address is given as “ Yacht Pierette, Pin Mill, Ipswich.” The yacht has been seized.
