KITCHEN EVENING
BRIDE-TO-BE HONOURED Miss Marjorie Kirkbride and Mr Cecil Jamieson, who are shortly to be married, were tendered a kitchen evening in the Matangi Hall, recently, by the members of the local swimming club. The hall was beautifully decorated with greenery and the supper tables | were bright with bowls of autumn [ flowers. [ Dancing was enjoyed, excellent music being played by Clayton's Orchestra with an extra by Miss M. Shaw. Mr D. Faulkner was M.C., and a novelty dance was won by Mrs Richardson and Mr D. Taylor. Cards were enjoyed in the supperroom, the winners being Mrs R. Wright and Mr T. Shaw. During the evening Mr C. Strong thanked Miss Kirkbride for her Interest. in raising funds for the swimming club and, on their behalf, presented her with a silver-mounted pyrex dish. Mr R. Butler asked the guests of the evening to accept the many gift parcels with the good wishes of those present. Mr Jamieson suitably replied, and they were accorded musical honours.
