TROPHIES PRESENTED
PIPE BAND FUNCTION DEPUTY-MAYOR OFFICIATES “I sincerely congratulate you on the j wonderful performance you put up,” j remarked Mr F. Findlay, deputy-Mayor lof Hamilton, in presenting the tro- | phies won by the South Auckland Pipe Band at the recent Dominion contest, ! at the victory ball held in Frankton i last evening. Mr Findlay added that the record of the band was one of which the residents of Hamilton were proud. “I would like to compliment your chief, Mr Trevena, and your pipemajor, Mr Clothier, for their sterling , efforts, but I realise that a large meaI sure of the band's success can be ! attributed to the industry of the rank | and file.” Mr Findlay concluded by wishing the band success in the future and assuring its members that the council would always give them every consideration.
