WIN FOR TARANAKI WELLINGTON JUST BEATEN (By Telegraph.—Press Association) HAWERA, Wednesday Taranaki snatched victory from Wellington in the annual representative Rugby match at Hawera this afternoon by 9 points to 3 The standard of play was patchy, and the tackling on both sides was decidely weak. Playing with the advantage of the wind and sun. Wellington held the territorial honours in the first half, but failed to penetrate the defence, the spell ending without score. Wellington opened its tally with a penalty goal, Taranaki equalising with a try. A penalty goal put Taranaki in the lead, but a converted try gave Wellington a two-point advantage.
