ANNUAL ELECTIONS TO-DAY * ALL RE-ELECTED MR J. ANDERSON’S FINE RECORD The’ annual elections of county chairmen were held to-day, when in most cases the sitting chairmen were returned to office. At the meeting of the Matamata County Council Mr J. W. Anderson was elected to the position for the 25th year in succession. WAIKATO OHAIRMAN MR J. A. SAMPSON RETURNED An expression of confidence In Mr J. A. Sampson as chairman of the Waikato County Council was evident at the annual meeting to-day when he was returned to office unopposed. This is Mr Sampson’s fifth successive year as chairman, and members of the council paid a tribute to his services in the past and assured him of their confinued co-operation. In returning thanks Mr Sampson expressed the wish that the cordial relations that had always prevailed between the council members should continue. Mr Sampson was also appointed the council’s representative on the District Highways Council. In Other Centres Mr S. C. B. Mackv was re-elected chairman of the Waipa County Council and Mr H. W. Wilson was returned to the position of chairman of the Raglan County Council. Mr W. C. Kennedy was chosen for a further term as chairman of the Piako County.
