BRIDES-TO-BE HONOURED
HANDKERCHIEF AFTERNOON Mrs T. O. Stark, of Motumaoho, was hostess at a handkerchief afternoon held at her residence recently in honour of Misses Eva Stark and Joyce Meharry, whose marriages will take place shortly. There were about thirty guests present, and an enjoyable time was spent with competitions and games. The prizewinners were Mesdames Lyndon, \V. Grump and Misses M. Smith and A. Ferguson. On behalf of those present Mrs T. 0. Stark asked the guests-of-honour to accept the beautiful gifts of handkerchiefs and wished them happiness. Miss Meharry replied, and Mrs A. Squire replied on behalf of her sister, Miss Stark, who was unable to be present. Musical honours were accorded. During afternoon tea a roll call ■‘Hints for the bride,” brought forth many useful hints.
