FARM LEGISLATION
REVIEW BY IMON URGED IMPORTANCE OF ORGANISATION (Bj Telegram.—Special to Tlmea) WELLINGTON. Tuesday. Addressing rhe Farmers' Union conference. Mr J. Livingstone contended that no legislation afTectinz the farmer should he considered by Parliament until the Farmers’ Union had passed comment and made recommendations. The lnter-provinclal conferences were a preliminary to the Dominion conference, which should and must be of such importance that the people and the Government would realise that the farmers of the Dominion, like other unions, were determined to stand solidly as one body conscientiously to protect the industry' which meant everything for the success and progress of New Zealand. Frofn the head ofltce downwards every unit of the organisation should see if there were any weaknesses to be remedied so that in future the union would be powerful enough as a Parliament of farmers to control the industry which belonged to It by heritage and Just right. He urged the conference to make a strong recommendation to the Dominion conference that the whole question ot organisation be gone Into most carefully.
