WESLEY’S CONVERSION SERVICES IX HAMILTON There were large congregations at [ St. Paul’s Methodist Church. Hamilton ' and St. John’s. Hamilton East, last evening when the bi-centenary 0 f the I conversion of John Wesley was cele- ' brated. ; At St. John’s a tablet erected to the i memory of John Wesley was unveiled | while at 8.45. the exact hour of the conversion, a reading from the Journal describing the even! was read. The congregation was addressed hy the J circuit stewards, Messrs .1 t. Bryant. iW. Wheatley, L. Money and n. f | Clement. Special music was rendered by the choir and a solo was given by I Mrs Webster, of MaUingi. A social was afterwards held. The anniversary was marked at St. Paul's by a combined circuit rally at ■which the speakers were Revs. R. B. ITinsley and J. Parker. Mr J. R. Fow presided. Mr Parker spoke of Wesley as an evangelist, while Mr Tinsleybased his talk on Wesley’s contribution to the religious life of the Eighteenth Century and its challenge to the present generation. Mr Fow read extracts from Wesley’s Journal. Appropriate music was rendered by the choir and a communion service * was afterwards held.
