Hunting Blood won Just as easily to-day as he did on Saturday, hitting the rront early from an outside barrier position to be in charge within half-a-rurlong and making a procession or it from then on. Though he won hy eight lengths, he appeared to be under a nice hold In the straight and his winning margin could have been greater had he so desired. British Nation was finishing on to beat Young Paddon for second, the latter having his first outing ror a spell. He is a likely improver. Friskland was slow to move and Chastisement, who showed a disinclination to come Into the barrier and who was placed on the outside or the field, stopped at the barrier, taking no part In the race. By the time they had settled down, Hunting Blood had flashed through to the rront and he showed out at the hair-mile from Spearrord, Orwere, Pirate King, Highland Queen. Paul Robeson, Wlndcress. Young Paddon and Prlval. Hunting Blood was clear racing past the three furlong peg and he cape into the straight eight lengths In rront of Orwere, Wlndcress. Pirate King. Spearrord. Young Paddon. The Trimmer and Paul Robeson. Nothing had a chance with the Te Rapa horse in the straight and he won very comfortably by eight lengths rrom British Nation, who got up to heat Young Paddon by Tmir-a-length. Paul Robeson was rourth. then followed Prlval. Dragon Moth, The Trimmer. Miss Clipper nad Windsor Lass. Time, 1.16 2-5. HANGATIKI HACK HANDICAP Of £200; 7 l'urs. 1— I—DU MAURIER. Dr. T. C. Du Maurler as was the case with the previous winner won as comfortbalv as on opening day. He was fairly well backed and at the turn was lying about tenth, but came through at the distance and won going away. Melvanu! appeared the unlucky horse or the race as after drawing the rails he failed to Jump out and was last early. He was flying at the finish to beat all but the winner. Sen Acre’s per* formance was her Y>est to date. Mai de Mer was the first to become prominent, leading along the back from Fleur D’Or. Maxown, Chler Lap, Abbey Lass, Mfo Fratolio. Forest Acre and Sen Acre with Melvanul banging up the rear. Across the top, Mai de Mer was still making play from Fleur D'Or with Maxown still handy in front of Silver Glow, Forest Acre, ChW Lap. Sen Acre, Pright Idea. Du Maurler, Mlo Fratolio and Ahhev Lass. Sen Acre had moved up behind Mai de Mer as they levelled up for home with Maxown and Silver Glow next. Melvanul being still well back at this stage. Du Maurler had commenced to move up and after hitting the front at the distance he carried on to win very decisively by five lengths from Melvanu! who finished well to' beat Sen Acre by a neck. Bright Idea was fourth followed by Chief Lap, Maxown. Raceiine, Disturbed and Silver Glow. Time, 1.30 2HAMILTON HURDLE RACE HANDICAP or £500; 2 miles 3 3—JOLLY BEGGAR. Mr D. H. Winner trained by F. Christmas, Rlccarton. Giving a polished exhibition of Jumping throughout. Jolly Beggar stayed on too well for the opposition In the big hurdle event. Ills performance under the steadier of 1 2st was a distinctly Impressive one and one that draws attention to his Jumning prospects at the ftltr June* meeting at Ellerslle. Kllberls went a fine race and appeared to be definitely on the upgrade, while Donegal’s performance suggests that he may do better too. Valpal led over the first rence rrom King’s Archer. Kllladar. Kllberls. Count Roussillon, Iddo and Donegal. Silk Sox fell at the second fencp and Jolly Beggar led past the stands .lust clear of Kllladar. Count Roussillon. Kllberls. Winner trained by owner, Paeroa. Day wind ran rignt up to nis nest form in winning practically from end to end. After Jumping out smartly, he was in charge at the end or a couple or runongi and after leading into the straight three lengths clear, he maintained that advantage to the Judge. Ruiette and oay Rose ran good races while the favourite, Gold Vaals, arter being last early, railed to make •» much impression in the straight. Gay Rose was slow to move and Wal* taka led early from Ruiette, Cheval de Volee, Day Wind, Light Comedy, Prlnca Rangl, High Tea, &ay Rose and Gold Vaali. Day Wind then commenced a forward move and at the half-mile he was in charge from Ruiette, Cheval de volee, Prince Rangl, Waltakl, Light Comedy, Gay Rose, High Tea and Gold Yaals. Windsor Lad indicated that he is approaching his best by winning nicely, although he had little to spare from Lucldus. who challenged hotly In the straight. Riotous fell at the brush near the three furlong peg and though he was In front at the time he appeared to be tiring. Mlo Lume came to grief at the sod wall entering the straignt. Riotous set the early pace, leading over the double in front or the stands from Windsor Lad,. I.ucidus, Klnkle and Mlo Lume. As they raced along the back Riotous had put a break of half-a-dozen lengths on Kinkle, with Lucldus a Jength away In front of Windsor Lad ond Mlo Lume. At tne naif-mile, Kinkle nad reduced the gap on Riotous and as they went across the top the Held was racing In close order. Riotous fell at the fence by the three furlong peg and Mlo Lume at the sod wall. Windsor Lad leading into the straight Trom Lucldus and Kinkle.
