UNREST IN MEXICO
AN OPEN REVOLT REBEL LEADER’S DEFIANCE (United Press Assn.—Elec. Tel. Copyright) MEXICO CITY, May 22 The Government has officially declared that General Cedillo is conducting on open revolt, which is foredoomed to failure because the military support which he expected has not materialised. An official communique reported that a cavalry force despatched to crusli the revolt had fought its way lo the. Rio Verde. It had frequent skirmishes with irregulars. The rebels have cut two railways between Tampico and the Rio Verde. A report that General Cedillo is preparing to leave for the United States is apparently unfounded, his followers declaring that he will remain and fight to the bitter end.
