BAPTIST CONFERENCE
CHURCH AT TE AWAMUTU INAUGURATION ON TUESDAY Matters relating to the activities of the Baptist Church were discussed at the fifth annual conference of the South Auckland Baptist Association held at Tauranga recently. Seven churches were represented. It was reported that Te Awamutu Baptists had agreed to form themselves into a church and the inauguration of that body would take place on Tuesday. Formerly there was a Baptist fellowship meeting at Te Awamutu. The recent self-denial offering from six churches amounted to £421 and this would be devoted to home and foreign missions. Regarding out-stations in the Waikato district, there were 14 preaching stations and 10 Sunday schools, five of which were devoted to instructing about 200 native children each Sunday. The following officers were elected: President, Mr E. McGregor; committee. Rev. G. S. Reay. Messrs C. F. Hart, R. Dunnipace: secretary and treasurer, Mr G. E. Burt.
