J 1.35 a.m.) LONDON, May 20 At the wool sales 7361 hales we IT offered, including 4081 bales New Zealand, and 5051 bales were sold. A moderate and miscellaneous selection met with an active demand. Sllpes and inferiors were heavily withdrawn owing to the high limits. Throughout the series 69,700 bales were offered, 59,000 bales being sold. There was a hardening tendency throughout. Compared with the closing rates of the previous series the prices were from par to 5 per cent, higher, except sllpes, which were from 5 to 10 per cent, lower. New Zealand clips—Greasy crossbred: "Opou,” 9d and ilsd; "Paparatu," 9d and 104 d. Scoured halfbred, combing: "Stoneleigh,” 21d and 23id. A total of 16,000 bales of Australian and 28,500 of New Zealand were sold, and 34,500 bales of Australian and 21,500 of New Zealand held over.
