FIGHTING IN MEXICO OPPOSITION TO THE PRESIDENT GENERAL CEDILLO’S ACTIVITIES United Press Assn.—Elec. TeL Copyrlrtl (Received May 21, 11.50 a.m.) MEXICO CITY, May 20 A message from San Luis ’Poloai states that fighting has broken out between peasants, armed by General Cedillo and the Government air forces. The railway between Tampipo and San Luis Polosi has been cut. The correspondent of the Associated Press states that General Cedillo will send the peasant army into the hills to prepare for guerilla warfare with President Cardenas’ army. General Cedillo declared that h« would not start trouble, but he wa» ready to repel all aggression by force of arms. General Cedillo, who is a 45-year-old Mexican Indian and supporter" of the Right Party, has been a political opponent of President Cardenas for 20 years and the dominant power in San Luis Potosi. Their dispute is Left versus Right. It Is feared that If the fighting contlnuuea It may spread throughout the nation and Mexico may become another Spain. General Cedillo declares that the Mexicans are tired of an infamous dictatorship with Communist trimmings, which arc ending all sources of wealth and submerging the country in ruin and misery. “ I place the responsibility for blood on the caprice of the man who seek* to make Mexico a dependent of the Soviet,” he added.
