Copyright (Received May 21. 12.30 p.m.) LONDON, May 2 0 Negotiations have nearly been completed in London for a credit agreement with Turkey involving £16.000,000. The Australian Associated Press savs Turkey will receive £6.000,000 for armaments, including aeroplanes, submarines. and the renewing of the identical fortifications in the Dardanelles which were fired on by Australian soldiers and the British Navy. The balance of £10,000,000 involves ordinary irade transaction. This is in accord with Britain’s consisfent aim lo stand well with the new Turkey, enabling her to modernise her navy and air force armaments, and is tantamount to assuring that a former enemy will he Britain’s ally in the event of a Mediterranean emergency.
