ACT OF JEALOUSY
MAN IN FRONT OF TRAM ATTEMPTED SUICIDE CHARGE (By Telegraph.—Press Association) CHRISTCHURCH, Friday Jealousy so preyed on the mind of a young married man that he threw himself in front, of an approaching tram yesterday morning. This was the story told to the magistrate, Mr E. C. Levvey, this morning, when a young man whose name was suppressed, appeared to answer a charge of attempted suicide. The man entered a plea of not guilty and the case was held over until the magistrate has considered the matter. Sub-Inspector Packer said the man had been married only 16 months and became jealous. In a statement to the police he had stated he threw himself in such a way that the car would not go over him
