MISSING A FORTNIGHT
INDIAN'S DISAPPEARANCE A fortnight has lapsed since an Indian. Delu Desai (42), waa last seen at the settlement of Taharoa and-with no trace of him fears are heW for his safety. Detectives A. J. White and J. Hayes, of Hamilton, have been conducting investigations but without avail. Delu Des&l disappeared without saying goodbye to the many friends he had made among the Maoris during his 13 months’ stay in the trictDesai is about sft. 2in. in height, and of slight build. He speaks good English, and has been In New Zealand about 20 years. He generally worked around Auckland, where he Is well-known. Taharoa Is on the west coast, some 15 miles In a direct line south of Kawhia.
