WEEK-END BHOOTINQ As a result of the rain this week, for both duck and pheasant shooting at the week-end are regarded as better than a week ago. The effect of the rain has been to break up the large mobs of duck on the lakes and ponds, attracting the birds back to marshland feeling grounds, and if there is Just a little more wind and rough weather on Saturday and Sunday better bags should result. The consensus of opinion among Hamilton shooters. Judging from reports received this week, is that there are many more pheasant in the area this year but the birds are more than usually w-ild and get quickly out of range. This, however, is interpreted encouragingly as showing that handreared birds speedily adapt themselves to the natural environment.
