NOTED AIR PILOT
CAPTAIN P. G. TAYLOR MARRIED Captain P. G. Taylor, the noted air navigator and pilot, who recently returned to Australia from England, was quietly married last Wednesday at Mosman, to Miss Joan Broadwood, of North Sydney.
Only close relative's were present at the ceremony, and immediately afterward Captain and Mrs Taylor left on their honeymoon, the destination of which has been kept a secre't. Captain Taylor has a distinguished air record. He served with the Air Force during the war, and was navigator and co-pil'ot with the late Sir Charles Kingsford Smfth on his flight in 1934 from Brisbane to San Francisco in the single'-engined machine, Lady Southern Cross.
During a flight across the Tasman in the Southern Cross with Sir Charles Kingsford Smith, Captain Taylor climbed on to the wing of the machine to transfer oil from an engine which had broken down, to the other engine'. He was awarded the Empire Gallantry Medal.
