TE KUITI WEDDING

BRAINSBY—GRESHAM A wedding of wide interest took 1 place at St. Luke's Anglican Church, j Te Kuiti, last Saturday evening, the J Rev. E. W. Hancock, vicar of Te Kuiti, | performing the ceremony, when Betty, only daughter of Mr and Mrs Arthur im. of Te Kuiti, was married I to Eric Arthur, elder son of Mr and ! Mrs A. T. Brainsby, of Whangarei. The church had been beautifully decorated by friends of the bride for i the occasion. Mr W. Dent presided I at the organ. The bride, who was given away by her father, was attended by Miss Joan Walker and Miss Mary Yoyce bridesmaids. The bride wore a charming parchment satin gown embroidered with gold and seed pearls, with a Court train. Her veil of parchment tulle fell from a headdress of lilies of the valley, and she carried a cascade bouquet of chrysanthemums. The bridesmaids wore graceful gowns of parchment taffeta, also em-

broidered in gold, with gold embroidered tulle caps and veils. Their shower bouquets were of scarlet and autumn-tinted flowers. Mr Harold K- Brainsby, of Auckland (brother of the bridegroom), was best man, and Mr W. S. Cato, jun., was groomsman. Messrs E. M. InnesJones, A. Craig and Eric Pankhurst were ushers at the church. A largely-attended reception was afterwards ‘held in the Parish Hall, manv guests present from Auckland' and Whangarei. To receive the guests Mrs Gresham wore a graceful frock of parma violet velvet trimmed with grey fox fur, and a velvet toque io match. She carried an armlet of primroses and violets. The mother of the bridegroom wore a gown of black velvet with touches of white, and a hat of black velour, relieved with white. Phe carried a bouquet of tlowers in autumn tints. The bride travelled in a grey tailored costume with a French model hat and veil In black and gold, and black accessories. Mr and Mrs Eric Brainsby will make their home at Whangarei.
