YOUNG PEOPLE CRITICISED EDUCATION SYSTEM FAULTY? (By Telegrapn. —ere*, union) AUCKLAND, Thursday Dissatisfaction with the present system of education in New Zealand was expressed by delegates at the Auckland provincial conference of the Farmers’ Union to-day, and after lengthy discussion a resolution was carried requesting the Government to appoint experts to bring about the results required. Expressing agreement with the suggestion that the fundamentals of music should be taught, Captain H. M. Rushworth. M.P., said the requirements of the university set the standard for primary and secondary schools. However, the aim of the university appeared to be the training of young jr.en and women to live by their wits at the expense of the public. Mr R. A. S. Brown criticised the ordinary parent for not giving sufficient encouragement in the home.
