APPEALS SUCCESSFUL INTOXICATION CASES The appeals of Maurice Cronin, motor trimmer and Cornelius McDevitt, labourer, both of Hamilton, against i their conviction for intoxication while | in charge of a motor-vehicle were upi held by the Chief Justice, Sir Michael Myers, in the Supreme Court, Hamil- | ton, this afternoon and the convictions were quashed. INTOXICATED MOTORIST NINE MONTHS’ GAOL INVERCARGILL, Thursday Glarence Herbert Hibbs, married was sentenced to-day by Mr Justice Kennedy to nine months’ hard labour and disqualified from holding a license for five years for being intoxicated while in charge of a car and by an act or omission causing death. On a charge of negligently driving a car thereby causing death Hibbs was ordered to come up for sentence If called on within one year.
