CROQUET
SOUTH AUCKLAND ASSOCIATION ANNUAL MEETING The annual meeting of the South Auckland Croquet Association was held in the Winter Show Hall on Tuesday afternoon. Representatives from the following clubs were present: Cambridge. Claudelands. Frankton, Hamilton, Huntly, Leamington, Matamata, Morrinsville, Taupiri, Te Awamutu, Te Aroha and Whitiora. In the unavoidable absence of the president. Mrs Gall, Mrs G. Meikle, vice-president, presided. The balance-sheet showed the association to be In a very satisfactory llnancial position. During Hie season three now clubs affiliated and two clubs withdrew, leaving 30 clubs affiliated, with a total membership of 705 members. It was decided again to hold the annual tournament in Hamilton next February. The election of officers resulted as follows: Patron, Mr J. R. Fow: president, Mrs J. R. Fow: vice-presidents, Mesdames Meikle (Te Aroha . Totman (Hamilton) and Griffin (Matamata) : j handicapper. Mrs 5. R. llawken; referee, Mrs Kibblewbite: secretary and treasurer, Mrs Rockell: delegate to New Zealand Croquet Conference, Mrs Meikle. It was decided to elect three country members and a representative from each of the Hamilton clubs, not represented. to the committee. The following were elected: Mesdames Revin Te Awamutu . Watkins Huntly . and Hopkirk (Cambridge . Williams St. Paul’s . Peterson (Railway and one from Frankton. After general business had been transacted the meeting closed with a hearty vote of thanks to the chair.
