FURTHER VISITORS ARRIVE CLARION CALL LOOKS WELL JOLLY BEGGAR HERE (By “Martian”) Among the visiting horses to arrivi this morning were Clarion Call, Jolly Beggar, Waitaka, Riotous and Forest Glow. Clarion Call was worked over a couple of circuits on the sand trackHe is in -splendid order for racing at the meeting and looks in better order than when here last. The only gallop during the morning was that of Tradesman (J. Winder) and Cappy (Reilly), who were associated over five furlongs, the former finishing in front in 1.8. They ran their final half-mile in 55s and Tradesman, who is all the better for racing at the Franklin fixture, did his »vork impressively. R. Glading will not be riding on the first day of the Waikato meeting but will attend the Manawatu fixture on Saturday where one of his mounts will be Son and Heir. He will return for the second day at Te Rapa. Further riding engagements announced for the meeting are:— J. F. Fergus.—King Rey, Valpai. W. M. Thomson.—Hunting Blood.
