ARMY HORSES SOLD

GOOD PRICES REALISED The gradual progress in the mechanisation of the artillery units in New Zealand was reflected in the sale of 2 9 hacks and light horses by Messrs Dalgety and Company, Limited, at the Frankton saleyards yesterday. This comprised the full offering of the animals, which were brought from the Auckland area. The top price was £37, while the average for the full quota was between £l3 and £l4*.

No doubt, farmers will welcome the Defence Department's change-over from horses, for difficulty in obtaining good utility animals has been experienced. The demand for quality hacks was evident at yesterday’s sale.
