MOUNTLEY DISPERSAL PROGENY OF IMPORTED BULL (Special to Times.) NGARUAWAHIA, Wednesday A feature of the early sales at the annual dispersal of pedigree pigs from the Mountley Stud, the property of Mr A. T. Rogers, at Ngaruawahia, today, was the keen competition for sows in pig- Prices for these ranged from I*2 to 38gns. with offers for the oldest progeny of the imported boar, Woodburn Landon, not infrequently exceeding 20gns. Top value of the morning was made for the champion sow, Mountley's Grand Girl Fifteenth, who was sold at 38gns. to Mr \V. McGill, of Te Awamutu. Mr R. W. Strugnell, of Omokoroa, Bay of Plenty, was last bidder on Burwen Fashion Ist, at 21gns., while one guinea less secured Mountley’s Gay Shirley for Mr J. C. Armstrong, of Tuakau. Berkshire boars were not in such keen request and a bid of 42gns. on Te Rapa Pride Eleventh, first and reserve champion at the Auckland Show last year, did not reach the vendor’s reserve. Boars ranged in price from 6 to 18gns., while maiden sows, which were not in such request, were traded at from 6 to lOgns. The sale, which was conducted by the Farmers’ Auctioneering Company, was attended by a very large bench of buyers from all parts of the North Island.
