Copyright SYDNEY, May 16 Lawn Derby, the outstanding pacer in Australia, attempted to break the Australian and New Zealand freelegged pacing record for a mile at Harold Park course to-day, but he failed, his time being 2.2 4-5, or twoflfths of a second outside Walla Walla’s time. However, the track was slightly holding. Later, Lawn Derby broke his own course record for a mile and a-half by two seconds when he won the Harold Park Handicap in 3.14 1-5.
