BIRTHDAY PARTY

EVENING AT CAMBRIDGE A happy time was spent at the home of Mr and Mrs 0. R. Smith, of Grosvenor Street, Cambridge, on Saturday evening, when they gave a party in honour of the birthday of their daughter Noeline. The rooms were delightfully decorated with streamers, balloons and bowls of salvia and chrysanthemums. The evening was spent with games, competitions and dancing. A novelty dance was won by Miss S. Cunningham and partner. During supper a beautiful cake was cut by the guest-of-honour. Mr J. Keeley was M.C. Mrs Smith received her guests wearing a frock of rifle green reglna suede- Miss Smith wore a frook of fist blush cloque relieved, with silver. Among those present were :—Mesdames W. Stuart (Morrinsville) wearing black velvet; P. Andrew, black cloque and sequins; T. Myers, magnolia satin; J. Morris, lettuce green crepe; M. Phllpot (Morrinsville), black georgette; P. Fowler, salmon pink romaine; Misses N. Easter, signal red georgette; B. Brown, blue taffeta; K. West, floral cloque; B. Keyle, cherry satin bengaline; C. Keely, floral ninon; W. Greenhalgh, ice blue georgette ; B. Wild, blue tinsel cloque; J. Will, check organza; K. Ibbotsen, scarlet velour satin; C. Workman, black georgette and lace; V. Litchwark, buttercup lace; D. Hubbard, black crepe de chine; E- Smith (MorIrinsvllle), embossed taffeta; L. Cruick■diank (Te Awamutu), cornflower blue crepe; M. Cruickshank, black velvet; S. Cunningham (Morrinsville), ombre stiffened net.
