STOLE FOR ANOTHER

EFFORT TO HELP WOMAN TRUSTED EMPLOYEE’S LAPSE (By Telegraph.—Press Association) CHRISTCHURCH, Monday Feeling sorry for a woman with a large family, Edward Arthur Larsen stole two sacks of flour valued at £2 15s, the property of his employers, Messrs D. H. Brown and Company. This was the story told by counsel in the Magistrate’s Court to-day when Larsen was convicted and ordered to come up for sentence if called on in 12 months. He was also ordered to take out a prohibition order. Detective-Sergeant Holmes said Larsen, who was a trusted employee of the company, left a door in the store unlocked. Later lie returned and stole the flour. Counsel said Larsen acted without benefiting himself. The woman had refused to accept the flour.
