Jordan on the Abyssinian question at tiie meeting of tlie League Council were the views of the New Zealand Government. He said he fully concurred with Mr Jordan. CHILE TO WITHDRAW DEMAND FOR REFORM NEUTRALITY OF SWITZERLAND United Press Assn.—Elec. Tel. Copyright GENEVA, May 14 Chile has given the statutory two years’ notice of its withdrawal from the League owing to dissatisfaction at the reception of its proposals for League reform. She has intimated her readiness to rejoin the League of Nations if it is reformed before the expiry of her notice. The Council of the League to-day authorised M. Munters, President, to seek a means of preserving Chile’s membership. The Council, Russia and China abstaining, granted Switzerland full neutrality owing to her special position. M. Motta, Swiss delegate, assured Mr W. J. <K)rdan {New Zealand) that the liberty of the press regarding League meetings would be maintained.
