GIFT AFTERNOON FOR MISS TOSTI BANKS In warm autumn sunshine a number of guests enjoyed a delightful outdoor party arranged on Thursday by Mrs J. of Ilora Hora, in honour of her niece, Miss Tosti Banks, whose marriage takes place next monthThe afternoon was spent playing croquet and deck tennis, and a novel competition was won by Miss Margaret Macky. Later the guest-of-honour, who was wearing a frock of cinnamon selfchecked satin-back crepe, opened an array of gifts for the kitchen and the bathroom.

The hostess, who was wearing a frock of black crepe faille with gold relief, was assisted by her daughter, Miss Susan Banks, who wore a London tan woollen frock. BRIDGE EVENING Flag bridge was played when Mrs S. Haines arranged a pleasant party at her home recently. Bronze and golden chrysanthemums In effective contrast to the green sit-ting-room, were arranged as decorations. To receive her guests Mrs Haines was wearing a frock of ivory georgette flowered in shades of clover and green, with a clover sash and posy. At the bridge tables were:—Mesdames A. Moore, J. R. Ranstead; Misses Nancy Moyes, Nancy Martyn, Peg Ranstead, Barbara Taylor, Kit Ranstead, Jocelyn Rush, Joan Meredith, Lulu Josephson, Joan Sayers.
