TeL Copyright BERLIN, May 14 Gottfreld von Cramm, the German tennis star, was convicted of a sex offence and sentenced to 12 months’ Imprisonment, less two months he has already served. The trial was held in a special court. No witnesses were called for t£e prosecution. The Junior counsel for the defence, Herr Langbiel, called seven witnesses who testified to von Cramm's character.
The public prosecutor applied for a hearing in camera. Von Cramm's chief counsel, Dr. Gehricke, assented.
The Judge, sentencing accused later, stated that while his Services to German sport had been taken into account he had also damaged the reputation of German sport.
