CAMBRIDGE CLUB HANDICAP MATCH PLAY (Special to Times) CAMBRIDGE, ‘Sunday. Last Saturday saw the commencement of the Cambridge handicap (match play), when the first round was completed under perfect golf conditions. The new greens, played on for the first time, made scoring easier, and several rounds under 80 were recorded. Alford’s 7 9 enabled him to win a grand contest at the 18th. D. McCathie carried too many guns for C. Venneii, whom he defeated 3 and 2. M.
