AUTUMN MEETING HELD AUTUMN HANDICAP TO GAY SISTER LADY BUNKER IN FIRST The autumn meeting of the Waikato Trotting Club was held at the Claudelands ground to-day in fine weather. Winner trained by owner Mangere. Lady Bunker off 84 yards behind, was responsible for a solid performance in winning as she did. She made up ground quickly In the early stages and with a round to go was handily placed in fourth position. At the straight entrance she was right behind the pacemaker, Moira Bingen, and she overhauled her in the straight and carried on to win decisively. Moira Bingen failed Just at the end to hold ofT Dick Redmond, who tangled under pressure on tne post. Braemar .broke at the start and Dick Redmond also lert his feet along the back. Worthy Worker led early and passing the stands at the completion of a round was showing out from Rose Marble, Frontier Boy, Masterman and Moira Bingen. Along the back, Worthy Worker was closely followed by Moira Bingen who had moved up smartly in front of I.ady Bunker, Frontier Boy, Dick Redmond, Masterman, Leeleeta and Nelson Carbine. Moira Bingen had drawn to the front at the half-mile and here Lady Bunker was running a close second in rront of Frontier Boy and Dick Redmond. They rame into the etraight in that order. Lady Bunker coming through in the straight to win by a length and a-half from Dick Redmond, who tangled on the post two and a hair lengths in front of Moira Bingen. There was an exciting finish when the llttle-rancied Kia Kaha Hashed up over the last 50 yards to head Peter Smith after the latter had looked, at the distance, to have the issue in safe keeping. This marked Kia Kaha's first success over several years. Peter Smith endorsed the good impression he had made in his trackwork, but the winner was Just too good for him on the day. Axminster broke at the start and Peter Smith, Neon Oro and Excel led early. Passing the stands, John’s Last was in charge from Peter Smith and this pair was a j length in front of Kia Kaha and Wall I Street, with a gap to Neon Oro, Scottish Bard, Bonny Pointer and Excel. Racing into the back stretch, John’s Last was just shading Peter smith and the pair was still followed by Kia Kaha and Wall Street, with a big gap to Neon Oro and five lengths further to Scottish Bard, heading a bunch. There was no alteration in that order crossing the top and hallway down the running the race appeared to be between Peter Smith and John's Last. Peter Smith seemed to be winning comfortably when Kia Kaha flashed up to beat him by half a length. John's Last was a neck away third, with Wall Street fourth in Tront of Neon Oro and Scottish Bard. Gay Sister endorsed her good form of the Thames meeting in winning attractively after being handily placed over the latter stages of the running. Proletarian, arter hitting the front at the half-mile and leading half way down the running, was not quite equal to the winner in the end. Gay Sister skipped at the start, but quickly settled down and Guid Hairst led out from Kewple’s Crest, Gay Sister, Musketeer, Winaway, Our War, Crocus and Proletarian. Passing the stands the first time, Guid Hairst was a length out Trom Kewple’s Crest, and this pair was followed by Winaway, Gay Sister and Crocus, who was on the outside or four sulkies at this stage. Passing the stands the second time, Crocus was Just in rront or Guid Hairst, with Kewple's Crest closely following in rront of Winaway, Gay Sister, Our War, Musketeer and Proletarian. At the half-mile Proletarian went to the front closely followed by Our War, with Guid Hairst handy In front of Crocus, Gay Sister and Kewpie’s Crest. Proletarian and Our War were followed into the straight by Gay Sister, and over the deciding stages Gay Sister went on to win by two lengths Trom Proletarian who beat Musketeer by a neck. Kewple’s Crest was fourth, and then came Our War, with Winaway some lengths behind, and Guid Hairst and Crocus pulling up. Times:' 4.33. 4.30 3-5, 4.33 4- 4.35. Luminate was followed past the stands by Petite Jewel and this pair was followed by Transwell, Lady Amanda, Young Pointer. Paron Grand, Hanmcapner. General sarsfleld, and Sandusky. Within broke at the start and lost his position. Grand Triumph leading past the stands the first time from Win Huon, Braemar, Nelson Chief and Nelson Carbine. Crossing the top. Grand Triumph was still making the pace, but passing the stands the second time Win Huon had moved up to be clear of Fraemar, Within. Nelson Chler and Grand Triumph, with Reception next. There was no alteration in the order along the back, Win Huon still holding sway at the half-mile post, where Within. Braemar and Reception were next In order. They came into the straight in this order and over the final stages Win Huon hung on to beat Within by two lengths, with Braemar a length and ahalf further back third. In front of Reception, Nelson Chief and Ringen Sun. Times 4.51 3-5, 4.50, 4.51 2-5, 4.47.
TOTALIBATOR RETURNS The totallsator to-day for the flrat five races handled £10,541, compared with £12,154 on the corresponding day last year, a decrease of £1613. The following table shows the details of the investments on the various races compared with the Investments made last year:—
