RUGBY LINE-UP

TECHNICAL AT PARK AGAIN

TAUPIRI MATOH TO-MORROW TE AWAMUTU AND OLD BOYS Last Saturday’s big Rugby clash in ! Hamilton was se**n by a gr»*at crowd when Technical Old Boys and Cam- j bridge provided the fare that pleased. . Technical will be back at Rugby Park to-morrow when the third series of aames In the first round of the WalVato tnter-unlon Stag Trophy competition will be contested. The team Is tilting at further honours in an effort to overhaul the early lead established by Old Boy*. *r.d in Its tussle with Tauplrl to-morrow afternoon It should frlve another exhibition of fast Rugby. Technical have a great line of backs, and in the loose the forwards always show up to advantage. Tauplrl are hound to be improved after their first game last week, and with the bifrfrest pack of forwards in the competition they ahould be able to provide good opoosltion to last year’s champions. Probably the keenest contest tomorrow will he staged at Te Awamutu. where Old Boys and Te Awamutu will contest honours in a match which promises to be a strenuous one. Old Boys are nippy and fast in their attack, but the keen observer will see a weakness or two in the defence which a strong team like Te Awamutu may sort oat At the present time the balance seems to be slightly in favour of the Hamilton team. Much depends on the result of the game from the points of view of both teams, and Incidentally to Technical and all enthusiasts of Rugby football. Struggle at Cambridge Another close contest will be seen at Cambridge, where the home team will be pitted against Frankton. This frame should he bright indeed, for Frankton will be trying to break a brace of drawn results in favour of a victory. On the other side of the field, however, Cambridge will be aiming for an initial victory. With the advantage of playing on their home field the Cambridge team may gain vietorv, for although they were beaten by Technical last Saturday it appears that their true qualities have not yet „ been apparent. In Hamilton all the lower grade fixtures under the control of the Hamilton Rugby Union will be continued. and In these games some brignt play should be seen.
