BULLET ENTERS CHEST

MISHAP HANDLING RIFLE (Special to Times) THAMES, Thursday Mr Alfred Harold Foss (48), married, of Kerepeehi, was accidentally injured while handing a small rifle last evening when the cartridge exploded and the bullet entered his chest. Mr Foss was taken to the Thames Public Hospital. His condition this iriorning was reported to be satisfactory. Mr Foss is an employee of the Lands and Survey Department at Kerepeehi, and his wife and two children are resident in Cambridge. CYCLIST’B FATAL INJURIES AUCKLAND, Friday Mr Frederic Saker (20), of Mount Roskill, who was thrown from his cycle near Penrose on Tuesday night, died in the hospital yesterday. YOUNG GIRL’S DEATH WHAN GAR El. Friday Gwen Margaret Price 12), who was Injured when she fell from a vine upon which she was swinging, died in tlie hospital last evening.
