MILITARY AERODROMES INSPECTION BY THE KING WORLD'S FASTEST FIGHTERS United Press Assn.—EJec. Tei. Copyright LONDON, May 9 Wearing the uniform of Chief -Marshal of the Royal Air Force, the King, in hls own scarlet and blue aeroplane piloted by Wing-Commander Fielden, flew from Windsor to-day on an extensive tour of military aerodromes. His Majesty first visited Northolt, where he inspected the Hawker Hurricanes, claimed to be the world’s fastest fighters and equipped with eight machine-guns in the wings. His Majesty talked to the pilots and crews, and also examined the secret armament of the Hawker Demons. He watched a fly-past at 300 miles an hour. Later the King will inspect bombers at Harwell, the training command at Upavon, and the coastal command at Portsmouth.

Copy u LONDON, May 9 Germany's High Seas Fleet, rising from the bottom of the Sea, is helping out British rearmament. Nineteen years ago German officers scuttled 72 vessels at. Scapa Flow. Messrs Cox and Danks, Limited, the salvage contractors, have raised 32 destroyers and light cruisers, four battle-cruisers, and two battleships. For the last four years Metal Industries, Limited, has been concentrating on the larger ships raised—the Bayern, Koenig Albert. Kaisern, Friedrich der Grosse. and Prinz Regent Luitpold. At the breaking-up yards of Metal Industries. Limited, these ships have yielded 250.000 tons of steel, brass land copper, every ounce of which is going into reargnam^nt. Cox and l ank. Limited, are beginning immediately with the salvaging of three other ships, including the 28,000tonner Derflinger. sometimes German tugs have been given the job of towing the raised warships from Scapa Flow to the break-ing-yards at Rosvfh on thfl Firth nf Forth.
