OBITUARY
MR HENRY ALLEN (Special to Times.) AUCKLAND, Tuesday The death has occurred, aged 67 years, of Mr Henry Allen, one of the oldest members of the Auckland Slock Exchange.
MR W. A. S. WEARNE (Special to Times) TE AWAMUTU. Tuesday The death occurred at Levin yesterday of Mr William Athol Seymour Wearne, manager of the Te Awamutu branch of the Bank of New South Wales, aged 41 years. Deceased came to Te Awamutu early last year, having been transferred from Inglewood. He was a. returned soldier, having served during the war with the Royal Army Medical Corps and on the hospital ship Marama. On returning to New Zealand Mr Wearne took an active part in the Returned Soldiers’ Association and only recently he was elected president of the Te Awamutu branch. He was also an officer of the Legion of Frontiersmen, and a member of the Te Awamutu Chamber of Commerce. He is survived by a widow, one son and one daughter.
