Mr A. H. Johnstone, K.G., was in Hamilton yesterday on Supreme Court business.
Professor J. H. Kolb, of the College of Agriculture, University of Wlnconsin, America, is in Hamilton.
Mr H. P. Toose, of the stud stock department of Messrs Wright, Stephenson and Company, Ltd., Wellington, is visiting Hamilton.
Messrs W. Parron, A. C. Gormach, A. 0. Fleming, M. P. Schmidt and J. C. Edic are gazetted as members of the Woodlands Rabbit Board.
Mr J. H. C. Halliday, postmaster at Raglan, is authorised to take out revenue statutory declarations under the Justices of the Peace Act.
Mr J. G. Walton, secretary of the Greymouth Fire Brigade, yesterday completed 50 years as a Are brigadesman, a unique honour in the annals of New Zealand fire brigades.
Mr C. R. Ford, of Auckland, was in Hamilton last evening and officially opened the third Rota Exhibition to be held under’the auspices of the Waikato Society of Arts.
At a meeting of the committee of the Waikato Winter Show Association to-day reference was made to the death of Mrs A. K. Alexander and a motion of sympathy with the relatives passed.
Mr J. Markle, who has been secretary of the executive of the North Auckland Dairy Conference for the last seven years, has resigned. Mr R. D. Speer, of Whangarei, will succeed him.
Messrs G. Clark, S. Baker, M. Anderson, M. Bedford, F. H. Chapman (Auckland), W. Dickson (Tauranga), F. Moodie, J. A. H. Dowell (Wellington), and H. T. Lovell (Hawera) are at the Hamilton Hotel.
Mr G. W. Hutchison, of Auckland, Governor-elect of the New Zealand district of Rotary International, will leave Auckland by the Aorangi next Tuesday to attend the annual Rotary Convention in San Francisco.
Mr F. B. Stephens, who Is associated with the Bureau of Social Science, Wellington, and was tutor-organiser of the Workers’ Educational Association in the Waikato about eight years ago, is visiting Hamilton.
Mr P. T. Keam, chairman of directors of the Tauranga Co-operative Dairy Association, has been re-elected unopposed to the directorate of the National Dairy Association as the representative of the South Auckland ward.
