GIFT AFTERNOON

MATANGI BRIDE-TO-BE Miss Ruby Shaw, xvho is to be married shortly, was the guest-of-honour at a delightful bathroom gift afternoon arranged by Mrs Marychurch at her home in Matangi. The large draw’ing-room xvas effectively decorated xxdth bowls of lovely autumn-shaded chrysanthemums. Mrs Marychurch received the guests xvearing a smart navy suede crepe frock, and Miss Ruby Shaw xvas xvearing nax'y and white spotted crepe. During the afternoon, competitions xvere held and musical items were given, songs by Miss' Elsie Shaw, pianoforte solos by Miss Pat Hicks, and elocutionary items by Miss Lily Ringer being much enjoyed. Miss M. Shaw was the accompanist. Competitions were won by Mrs Trubshaw and Miss Ruby Shaw 7 . Mrs Marychurch presented the guest-of-honour with a bouquet, and the many gift parcels, with the good wishes of those present. Miss Shaxv, after opening the parcels, suitably replied and she was accorded musical honours. A delicious afternoon tea was served. Those present were:—Mesdames Marychurch. J.
