ROTA EXHIBITION

WAIKATO SOCIETY OF ARTS PRIVATE VIEW AND OPENING Massed bowls of hydrangeas and autumn flowers provided artistic floral decoration in the Waikato Winter Show Hall last evening on the occasion of the opening of the third rota exhibition held under the auspices of the Waikato Society of Arts. A large number of members and their guests was present, and an interesting and enjoyable evening was spent viewing the representative display o? oils, water colours, etchings and handicraft xvork. The exhibition xvas officially opened by Mr C. R. Ford, of Auckland. Later in the evening a delicious supper xvas served. The guests xvere received by the president of the society, Mr J. Treloar, and Mrs Treloar, the latter xx-ear-ing a frock of rose and ivory flowered crepe soie. Among those present were:—Mesdames McDonald Ford (Auckland), S. Vickery, F. Sanders, Douglas Seymour, A.
