WAGON OFF LINES
MISHAP ON EXPRESB \ ONLY MINOR DAMAGE CAUSED (Py Telegram.—Press Association) DUNEDIN, Monday. The express from Invercargill to Christchurch wa-s involved in an accident at 10.45 last evening, a wagon containing oysters leaving the rails near and being dragged for nearly a quarter of a mile along the track. The mishap was due to a broken tyre on the front set of bogey wheels. The wagon was directly behind the seven carriages so that the passengers were unaware of the trouble until the express stopped- The wagon was one of four. It is considered lucky that the other set of wheels did not leave the track, causing a general smash. The express was travelling fairly fast. Nevertheless, there was only minor damage to the track.
