The Davis Cup tie broke up in confusion, after Punceo (Yugoslavia) had defeated Menzel (Czechoslovakia), 3c, 6 —l, 6 —l, 6 —2, Mitic (Yugoslavia) was leading Cejnar (Czechoslovakia), 3 —G, 7 —5, 40, 6 —2, 2—l, when the Czech walked ofT the courts under a general agreement to cease play at 7 p.m., which Yugoslavia does not reccognise.
