CLAUDELANDS CLUB SUCCESSFUL CLOSING DAY Although unpleasant weather conditions prevailed for the closing day • of the Claudelands Croquet Club recently, the members present spent an | enjoyable afternoon. The guests were received by the i president, Mrs Blacklock, who rej ferred to the successful season ex--1 perienceri by the club. J The treasurer, Mrs Church, and the secretary, Mrs Wells, were each pre- ■ sen ted with a crystal water-jug in reI cognition of their services to the club. ! Competitions held during the after- , noon resulted: Hurry-scurry, (a) Mrs i Bagiev, (b) Mrs Paton; progressive, j (a) Mrs Brough, (b) Mrs Lendrum; | crazy croquet, (a) Mrs Lamprell, (b) j Mrs Clevely; hit the peg, (a) Mrs Muir, (b) Mrs Marychurch; competij tion, a) Miss I. Jones, (b) Mrs Wells. A delicious afternoon tea was served, and the prizes won throughI out the year were presented by the president as follows:—A championship, Mrs Andrews; 13 championship, Mrs Wells; G championship, Mrs LivJingstone; rose bowl, A grade, Mrs iMunro: points prize, A grade, Mrs , Lamprell; Clark Cup, B grade, Mrs | Wells: A doubles, Mrs Bagley and Mrs !
