There is no apparent damage. The master of the Canonbar has informed owners that, he is confident the vessel will be refloated without assistance and in practically an undamaged condition. The Canonbar was the nearest vessel to the Port St. John when the latter vessel grounded, and stood by for several hours in case her assistance was required. Then, on continuing her voyage to Brisbane, the Canonbar ran aground herself about 100 miles further down the coast.
The Port of St. John is still fast, on the roof. Tugs are en route to render assistance.
